Reintroduction: definition, aims and objectives
Feasibility: feasibility study and background research
Previous reintroductions: research into reintroductions of species of interest or other similar species
Release site: choice and type of release site
Reintroduction site: suitable habitat, elimination or reduction to a suffecient level of previous causes of decline and extirpation
Release stock: wild population source, genetics, effects on source population assessed, veterinary screening before and after movement
Socio-economic, legal requirements: financial, political support; assess impacts, costs/benefits, assess
Planning and release: government approval, multidisciplinary team
Post-release: monitoring, research, investigation of mortalities, intervention if needed, public education, programme evaluation, publication
